Hello All,

While it is not good to dwell on loses…it seems since our victory over Rexona is still fresh in the minds of others. Today we had a half day off so I took my mom to get a manicure/pedicure and I got a massage. Some of the women who worked there immediately greeted me with a big smile saying I saw you on tv, great match. And it was now it is time to focus on our next match Sport Recife. We have been lifting heavy and doing agilities to build up for the final phase of this championship. Anyway my mom’s nails looks great and I left feeling relaxed. Wasn’t quite the deep tissue massage I wanted but it was just what I needed.

Praise be to God! We beat Rexona three sets to one in the third round finals! And I was named player of the match. But as I responded to an interview question which asked how I felt about it… I said well I am happy about it but it really belongs to the team as no one person in the sport of volleyball can be best player without the help of teammates. We really played well as a team even though a error percentage was high. We wanted, needed and took this victory. And got a day off tomorrow! My mom and hubby drove up five hours to the match. I return with them for the drive back to Sao Paulo achieving a difficult feat of not falling asleep ten minutes after our start. Really I am like a baby, put me in the passenger seat and I am off to la la land.

Hello All,

We beat Banespa in three. We were hoping to take this momentum into to match against Rexona but we got of to a slow start losing the first set . We won a close second set but just could not sustain. Positive we qualified for the third mini-final. It will be against Rexona in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday 9:30am! So we have a few days to make some adjustments tactically and individually. We’ll be working hard to change the results for Sunday’s match to our favor.

Well, we’ve had a good start this third tournament, beating Brazil Telecom 3-1, Sao Caetano 3-0 and Volei Futuro 3-0. Tomorrow we will play Banespa followed by Rexona on Tuesday. Winning the next two matches will bring the third finals to Osasco.

My mom made it. We celebrated her birthday Feb 10 with a surprise birthday lunch. I had practice that afternoon so after lunch, I trained and upon my return we sang happy birthday. Mom is 63 this year.

Not much else is going on. My friend Aretha and I are looking for housing in Beijing for the Games. Better be prepared. Seems we have found a good location. Time is flying.
