Hello All,

Wow, it has been a long time. Sorry. When I am at home in Baton Rouge, I am still “one of those” who has dial service. So besides have long days, I just didn’t feel like dealing with long Internet connections. I am now in Colorado Springs. I will be here through September during which I will train to compete in two tournaments.

I made it through my first six practices. I tell ya there is nothing that prepares one for playing volleyball except volleyball. No matter how many years one has played. Taking a few weeks off always hurt upon one’s return. Now of course I would be a lot worse off if I had not kept lifting and conditioning during my time off.

It is actually me writing this entry. And yes I survived my swim lessons. I even made some improvement my last lesson before leaving home. It is just too bad I won’t be able to continue through the summer. I will look into finding a pool here in Colorado. But the likely hood of my following through, after two practices…

Home what great. I kept really busy. I can really appreciate being back on my volleyball schedule so that I can get my midday nap in. I would start my mooring at about 7:11 am, pretty close to the time I start while in training. Drop my mom off at therapy, drop my niece off at camp, meet my strength trainer at Foxy’s for lifting, depending on the day followed by swim lessons, scoop my mom, grab lunch, take my oldest niece to work, run some errands, watch Y& R, clean up a bit, cook dinner or order dinner, pick my niece up at 9:30 PM. watch a movie or play a game before going to bed. Notice there was no time for a nap.

I played in a few local beach tournament. The first and last were at Mango’s (www.mangovolleyball.com) where my partner and I finished 3rd and 2nd. And one tournament in Houston at Third Coast Volleyball, where my partner and I finished 1st.

I spent two weekends in New Orleans. My niece, Natalie and her friend Paige and I drove to the Big Easy for the Essence Music Festival. That night we saw Kayne West, Fantasia, and a few other artist perform. The main performance of the night was Destiny’s Child who really did there thang! After the concert we TRIED to drive to Bourbon Street with no avail. After two and half hours in stop and go traffic we gave up and found the least busy street heading out of there! Sunday, we went to the morning service held at the Convention center. There were many motivation/inspirational speakers schedule throughout the day including Audrey Johnson, Paula White and Magic Johnson. We had lunch on the River Walk then headed back to Baton Rouge.

Well, that’s all for now. It is nap time. I will try not to be so long with the next update. Take care and many blessing to ya.
